Hi from Mildred

Hello Precious Treasures of our Hearts!

Hello, my name is Mildred. I have sent the password and blog info to my good friend Gertrude. She might be a little nervous about jumping in here at first. I think she and Charlie are still trying to figure out how to work their VCR. I may have to go out to her home and show her how to do this. Once she gets over any nervousness she might have, I bet we can't keep her off the blog and oh what a blessing that will be. I don't mind helping her at all...Bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. Gal 6:2

I rightly don't know what to tell you about to start off with. I wish Gerti was here to say something. Well, we love our church, I do know that. I have a quiet time, but Gerti seems not to have one or at least one she will admit to. We volunteer at church all the time and not once have we ever complained about it....no, no, no! Except the church really should do something about the pay, cause it stinks!

Gertrude is married to Charlie and he can build just about anything. Only you have to be careful to give him some dimensions and some direction. Once, we asked Charlie to build a little house for us to demonstrate our gingerbread house decorating on. You know gingerbread isn't just for Christmas. Anyway, he built us a lovely house; the only problem being we could have carried a couple of terriers in this thing. It was as big as a dog carrier...and it was heavy. We could barely carry it in for any demonstrations we were giving.

I am married to Ed. What can I say about Ed, well, he is just like Jesus. Ed never changes, he is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Ed is also know as the quiz master. That man can ask more questions in a five minute period and drive me batty, but Ed is helpful around the house. I appreciate that. I just had to write that cause Ed began asking me why I hadn't said anything nice about him.

From time to time we hope to address issues facing the church, families, and whatever the heck we are upset with at the time. It would be wonderful if you all have any questions we could answer, to put those in the comment section of the blog. We will answer them only if we feel like it.

Just to show you how we do things, I would like to write the words to one of my favorite back in the day Carpenter songs. For you young ones, the Carpenters were a famous brother and sister singing soft contempo rock group. They'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony...
We took the words to one of their top songs, Superstar and rewrote them as a tribute to Marion Jaynes, Minister to Preschool and Kindergarten.
Long ago, back in a distant day
I said I'd volunteer
but only for the day.
Your pleadings, they were so sweet and clear
now that just one day
has turned to twenty years.
Don't you remember you told me
it's just a few babies.
I said I'd think about it and say maybe.
Now it's babies, babies, babies oh more babies
they're everywhere
even in my hair.

Nothing like a good Carpenter song to make one feel mellow. Well, I got to go clip some coupons. Remember until we can get Gerti here...ask some questions and hopefully with all our expertise at nothing, we will be able to answer.

Love, Millie

In the words of Carly Simon:

Anticipation, anticipa-a-a-tion is making me late, is keeping me wai-ai-ai-aiting...We can never know about the days to come, but we think about them anyway...
